Buffy Fletcher has lived on the edge of the Mendips near Wells for more than twelve years. She designs and makes her own range of exclusive knitwear in wool, silk, linen and other natural fibres.
Buffy designs garments using simple traditional shapes such as ganseys and shepherds' smocks. Her emphasis is on using colour and pattern to give a new and distinctive feel to traditional ideas.
Buffy worked in the field of vocational guidance until redundancy gave her the impetus to develop her passion for textiles and colour. She is self-taught, though her fascination with textiles had resulted in a lifetime of experimentation with spinning, weaving and hand-knitting before moving on to work with a knitting machine
